welcome to the home of the carib culture unity festival
Unfortunately, this event was canceled due to rain and will be rescheduled for JUNE 2013! All tickets purchased for this event will be honored at that upcoming event!
Island Venture Restaurant and Lounge is a staple Richmond outlet for West Indian foods, music and cultural camaraderie. Founded in 1998 and formerly known as Panchinos, the Phipps family (owners) launched the business on the idea of providing the most authentic Caribbean experience to the people, specifically bringing the best of Jamaica to the south side of Richmond as well as the entire metro area. It was and continues to be their pride to ensure that each of their preparation methods truly represent the real of Jamaica, promising the highest level of authenticity possible, standing above competitors.
Island Venture Restaurant & Lounge is now proud to bring the 3rd Annual Carib Culture Unity Festival, to be held at Brown's Island on Saturday August 25th, 2012. A rain or shine carnival of cultural love, the grounds will be open beginning at 10:00am lasting all day until 10:00pm with an expected attendance of 5-7k people per hour.
The Caribbean community is a thriving economic populace; however its music and culture are waning. This is why the Island Venture team is taking responsibility for bringing them back to the forefront of Central Virginia. Music and culture bring awareness of unity, history and worldly perspective. The Island Venture Carib Culture Festival considers it an honor to bring a festival style of love and performance, commemorating the hardship and sacrifice of the African, Caribbean and West Indian people of Richmond past.
